11th Devonport Scout Group

Summer Camp 2001

South Pennines

25th August - 1st September 2001

We have decided to arrange a camp at Widdop Gate Hostel in the South Pennines, West Yorkshire.

Widdop Gate managed by 16th Bradford South Scout Group is a pair of 18th century toll gate cottages, which has been converted to include three dormitories and leaders rooms, with a lounge area and separate dining room and kitchen areas. The building also has separate male and female toilets.

We are using indoor sleeping to allow us maximum time for badgework & activities.

The cost for this camp will be £120.00 which will include transport, food, hire of camp site and all activities planned.

There are still some details to work out on the programme for the camp but here are a few of the ideas I have in mind - Hill Walking, Climbing & Abseiling, Local Visits, Pioneering, possibly Caving, possibly Horse Riding and several badgework activities plus one or two other events.
